Jirjí Mrácek grew up with his brother in a religious family. The trained roofer completed his studies as an industrial engineer. He worked as a roofer, but also as a builder or butcher. He has been involved in sports since his youth. First athletics and then bodybuilding, where he achieved extraordinary success especially in the 70s and 80s of the 20th century, when he was even two-time champion of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. In 1996 he fell off the roof while working and became partially disabled after being treated for broken arms and heels. During a hospital stay in a psychiatric clinic in Šternberk in 2012, he began to express himself artistically. He creates original pastel drawings on paper, inspired by memories of bodybuilding. He also combines religious motifs with imaginative compositions of a decorative nature and thus proves a previously hidden artistic talent. Two of his works will soon be on view on the website www.outsider-art-brut.ch
